LETTER FROM THE SECRETARIAT

Dear delegates and esteemed faculty members,
 

We are proud to invite you all to the 2nd Edition of inter-school ShriMUN. This conference is our school’s most action-packed flagship event. We offer a platform for delegates to portray their mettle of debating and deliberate on problems around the world and issues within India. At ShriMUN this year, we are providing delegates across the world a forum to excel in the field of debate and diplomacy. The theme for this year’s conference is “Diplomacy, a double-edged sword,” which stands self-explanatory with respect to the state of geopolitics in contemporary times.

Diplomacy works differently in theory and practice. Diplomacy is essentially a political activity, and being well-resourced and skillful are major ingredients of power. Its chief purpose is to enable states to secure the objectives of their foreign policies without resorting to force, propaganda, or law. It is able to achieve this mainly through communication. Together with the balance of power, which it both reflects and reinforces, diplomacy is the most important institution of our society of states.
 

From 31st July to 2nd August, we hope to provide a high-octane conference at the Shri Ram School, which centers around conflict resolution and delegates engaging in dialogue for a fruitful experience. Diplomacy, debate, extensive research, strategizing, arguments, stipulation, negotiation, and allegations are only the tip of the iceberg for ShriMUN 2024. Whether it is working towards India becoming a developed nation by 2047 or working on pure creativity and diplomacy skills by envisioning 2030 and finding environmentally-related solutions to current world problems or delving back into history to find solutions for the crisis in Kashmir - all of them will give you an inquisitive bent of mind about the dynamics of the world scenario.
